Welcome .. this Blog is designed to support the workshops I run in Singapore
If you are attending then I really hope you can add your comments below so I can design the sessions to better fit your own needs. This Blog lives at http://singaporeworkshops.com
I shall be running public workshops during these three days in Singapore ... flying down from sleepy Chiangmai in northern Thailand. The details are listed in the postings (messages) below. ... all with a Web 2.0 and Teaching & Learning Theme.
One of the advantages of Web 2.0, apart from being a powerful set of online tools for teaching and learning, is that it is very low cost and in many cases free providing you have an internet connection. It is planned to have a hands-on session in these workshops where you can try some of the applications ... depending on the internet connection behaving itself.
I shall be taking some photographs during the sessions ... hope you don't mind, but if a problem then just let me know privately. The photographs will live at http://tinyurl.com/64fuln
Participants often ask if they can bring their own laptop ... if you want to do this then please do so ... but it is best if you can arrive early in order to see if it can be connected to the internet through the network and arrange a suitable space.
If you are on the Podcasting session then you'll need to install some (free) software before you arrive ... email me and I'll let you know where to find it.
The machines used in the computer labs for the public sessions are all Microsoft Windows. I look forward to working with you ... please note, though, that you have some homework tasks to do before we meet ... see below for details.
1-how to attach powerpoint slides to the blog postings? 2-how to attach word document with illustrations to the postings? 3-how to attach a series of 10 or so photos? 3-take and attach videos to the postings? thanks
I've been working across S.E.Asia for the last thirty five years - the first 24 in Hong Kong focusing on k-12 education and the continuing professional development of teachers in an international environment.
Since 2002 I've been living in Chiangmai, Thailand, working across the region within my own consultancy "The Education Project Asia' supporting teachers and life-long learners related to educational technology.
My primary guidelines have always been to support the 'self esteem' of all individuals I've been fortunate to work with ... if people feel good about themselves then they can achieve the impossible.
In parallel with this belief is also to realise the collaborative nature of learning and also that of self-directed learning as necessary life skills for 21st century citizens.
These ideals fortunately do dovetail with your own core values.
