(W3) Use of Podcasts for teaching and learning

(W3) Use of Podcasts for teaching and learning
Tuesday 5th June 07 ... 9am to 12.30pm
Podcasts are really very simple (once you have been shown) ... they are audio (sometimes video) recordings that are put on the internet and have the potential to be brilliant resources to use with students and by students.
Will we go through the whole process of making an audio Podcast and then putting it on a website so it can be listened to by anyone in the world with an internet connection.

Hi, I'm Farrah from Canberra Primary. I am currently teaching a class of eight-year-olds. I've just started trying using Podcast and Profcast with a small group of pupils. I find that there are enless possibilities in using Podcasts and Profcasts in teaching and learning. However, as there was no training on their specific use in classrooms, I had to explore them at my own time and I find this a challenge(on top of the workload in school!). I hope in this workshop, I will be able to learn how these softwares can best be used in the teaching of English and Mathematics in the lower primary and how do I assess pupils' learning from using them.

Hi, I am Mrs Singh. I have been using podcasts in the teaching of Chemistry to my sec 3 and 4 students. My reason for attending the workshop is to see what other ways I can harness this technology. My podcasts are done on the mac. I have no problems with that but my school has only pc's. I learnt how to create podcasts from my son!

Hi I'm Hwee Leng from MOE. I am interested to see how podcast can be used to help students learn History and perhaps find out if there are some free software (i.e. we don't have to buy an Apple to do podcast) to be used in class.
