ICT for Science

Wed 2nd Nov 2009 : 1:45-5:00
TECHNOLOGY supporting SCIENCE Teaching and Learning

This workshop is specifically designed for Science teachers of students age 8 to 19.
We will cover several generic web 2.0 applications that are designed to help you find Maths resources and share those resources with other Science teachers and your students.
We will look at several Science specific websites and applications with time being allocated for you to try some of these 'hands-on'.
We will be joined online by a UK science teacher who who will share his experiences using technology with his students. With this subject-specific workshop it is also hoped that participants will share their own experiences of using technology to support the teaching of Science.

If you have time before the workshop then have a browse around

Note that there will be some overlap with the generic web 2.0 applications shown between the Maths and Science workshops.

Hi, I am Lynn, a primary school teacher, currently teaching English, Math and Science in the P6 level. I am adept at Microsoft Office Tools and the Internet and would like to learn how to incorporate ICT into my lessons to make it 'alive' for my pupils. So far, I've used Lead Portal, Science education software for some of my Science lessons. I hope to acquire some tools/application software to create a more engaging lesson.
